Drink up.

Love is a cocktail of the mind, a potent mixture of thought and instinct, a biological knee-jerk intoxicant that forces us to come to terms with the limitations of the species. We do not comprehend the game, but we have strong opinions about each and every move we make.

...and that is the problem with either alcohol or love. It clouds your reason, leaving you to more instinctual responses. Is this view of love bad? Most likely it is, but I was "run through the mill" once.

It was bad and it helped me to form my current view of love and personal relationships. They are all based on lies, wether expressed or repressed. Nothing is real in this case except the deception that both parties inflict on each other.

Love is the most selfish emotional state that there is...it is hard to accept, but it is true. Will my position change? I sure as hell hope so, but who knows? This woman showed me the worst elements of human nature; can you then blame me if I am a tad reticent to dive in again?

If I knew the way, I would lead you home...
